Bruce's Blog: National Novel Writing Month

If you’ve ever dreamed of writing a novel, then now’s your chance! November is National Novel Writing Month, which is the perfect time to crank out your best writing and get yourself published. Of course, I’ve always dreamed of being a published pawther. That may not come as much of a surprise, as I write all of these blog posts, including the one you’re reading right now. But I have much more to share, stories that require more space than I’m allowed on here.

So, without further ado, I would like to announce my debut novel! It’s an autobiography titled Of Meows and Men, and it’s about my struggle on finding a home. I’ve even included an exclusive excerpt below!

“I stare out into the darkness, looking for something that isn’t there. Instead of finding a home, which is what I long for, I find a dozen pairs of beady, yellow eyes staring back at me. I knew that I was not welcome here.

I turned away and continued down the street, hoping to find another alley or dumpster that wasn’t occupied. Then, unexpectedly, I’m grabbed from behind and carried over to a car. I’m placed in the back, and then we’re moving.

Everything happened so fast.

Regardless, I can barely even grasp what’s happening, or where I’m going. Still, the back of this vehicle already feels more like home than the streets ever did.

Who knows what my future holds?”
