Bruce's Blog: Hibernation. Bears do it, why can't I?

Dec 27, 2016

The purpose of hibernation is to conserve energy during a period or season when sufficient food is unavailable. Bats do it. Birds do it. Bears do it. Why can’t I?

Not eating for up to months at a time doesn’t sound too appealing, but I can always skip that part. I just want to be able to burrow myself into a blanket and sleep for ages. I am always down to take a nap. Trust me, if I could be wrapped up inside of a blanket like a burrito and sleep for months at a time, I definitely would.

Honestly, though, what’s the harm in giving this a shot? If I drop off the grid suddenly, you know where to find me.
