October is Bullying Prevention Awareness Month. This month, across the world, thousands of schools, communities, organizations, and individuals will come together to to raise awareness against bullying.
Back in October 2006,
PACER developed the initial campaign in response to the need to raise awareness of bullying. Historically, bullying was viewed as “a childhood rite of passage” and believed that bullying "made kids tougher", when the reality is that bullying has devastating effects such as school avoidance, loss of self-esteem, increased anxiety, and depression.
