Bruce's Blog: Cat-astrophes and Appropriate Responses

Mar 21, 2017

The world is filled with catastrophes and, simultaneously, cat-astrophes. Humans may say that cats overreact to things, but this just isn’t true. For example, if someone drops a huge book 20 feet away, we’re gonna jump five feet into the air for effect. That’s an appropriate response, because it sounds like a gunshot to us.

Another example of a cat-astrophe is running and hiding from the vacuum. You have to stay on high-alert when the vacuum is around, because you never know what might happen if you don’t pay full attention.

Also, in the picture above, we can see a cat (painfully) trying to eat a cactus. They must be really hungry to go to such extreme measures. The office humans keep me pretty well-fed, but if they didn’t, I guess I’d have to turn to my toy mice for a meal. How is that overreacting?
