Bruce's Blog: Healthy Aging Month

Sep 25, 2015
Before we leave September, I wanted to remind you that among its many themes, it’s also Healthy Aging Month. This is important stuff—especially to me (well, all things having to do with me are important. Remember: I’m a cat).

Do you know that as animals get older it’s sometimes better to feed us a little less? As I’m sure you can guess, I hate to tell you this. But it’s true.

Aging humans sometimes cut back on the calories, too, since their bod’s just don’t need as many. Even “active seniors”—humans and animals—burn fat and calories more slowly than whippersnappers and kittens do, which is why you might want to ask your doctor or vet for some healthy diet tips (if you’re aging, I mean—though if you’re reading this, you certainly are, and by the minute).

Here’s a link to some other dietary tips: www.health.com

And now, if you’ll excuse me, I’m going to go finish my breakfast. After all, it’s almost time for dinner. Cats invented grazing, you know.
