Real Life Unicorns?

Mar 28, 2016

According to a study published in the American Journal of Applied Sciences, the Siberian unicorn – Elasmotherium sibiricum – last walked the Earth about 29,000 years ago.

Scientists previously thought the creature with the partially mythical name died out about 350,000 years ago, but a newly discovered fossilized skull reveals it lived here much more recently.

Unfortunately, its name indicates a different picture than what it actually was. According to Science Alert, it was quite hairy, more the size of a mammoth than a horse, and looked like a rhino. It stood six-and-a-half feet tall, stretched nearly 15 feet long, and thumped across Siberia carrying a whopping 9,000 pounds, Mother Nature Network added. Its horn was even more terrifying, several feet long and deadly.

We at Graphics and More would just like to address the unicorn, though it is long gone. While others may express disappointment that you weren’t a dancing, glittery, equine, we think you’re beautiful anyway. Fur and all!
